Well, here I am still dipping my feet into the Six Sentence Sunday waters with another excerpt from my novel, Gideon. This time it's in the heroine's POV, and she's having issues with her sister.
“What the hell were you thinking leaving work at two o'clock in the morning–alone–to wander the streets of Chicago?” Macy shook her head. “I’m working on a story about a serial killer Sara, which kind of implies this city isn’t safe. I mean damn, your mother was killed by a butcher in a back alley, and you act as if you can’t get hurt!”
“Clearly I can get hurt.” She brushed her hair aside, no longer hiding her face.
Macy gasped then whispered, “Oh my God.”
Love the tension in this! Well done!
Thanks for stopping by. I'm trying to get used to my new site:)…and to keeping up with Six Sentence Sunday.
Well .they must have not tightened them ALL up ubcaese the one that purchased in July 2010 also came apart. They DID replace it for me, but it did not save me from the embarrassment of having the MOTB pick up my stand and have it fall apart in her hand. Wish I would have found your review earlier!
Yikes — now I'm worried about what happened to her! Nice ending hook.
