Yes, I skipped a week and also haven’t been good about visiting other Six Sentence Sunday authors’ sites in the past few weeks – but today is a new day! So I’ll be wandering about, checking out your sixes, too. Thanks for dropping by.
This excerpt is from my WIP called The Vampire Lust Club. The book is about a vampire with a gift: she can read the ashes of the dead. In a world where vampires are as visible as any man or woman, and in some circles, more respected, it’s a powerful tool for a vampire PI, especially when the first vampire vice president of the US is murdered, and the body count and the ashes start to pile up.
“Who are you?” He raised his hand and she saw the V-pistol pointed at her head.
“I’m a cop,” she gestured to her suit pocket. “I’ll show you my badge.”
“You’re a vampire.”
“Doesn’t mean I’m not the police,” she said.
Interesting premise for a story! I like the last line of this six, and look forward to reading more. Nice job!
Great exchange between characters.
Ooh! That’s a fast-paced six sentences snippet you got there! I like it! 🙂
