Good Sunday morning. It is time for Six Sentence Sunday! This is from my manuscript Gideon, and the heroine is a crime reporter, working to help a vampire FBI agent find a mass murder. In this excerpt she’s reacting to some new evidence.
A dagger? Seriously? It was the twenty-first century, people. Daggers hadn’t been a weapon-of-choice since the middle Ages–and the way the victims’ bodies were brutalized? These murders weren’t crimes of passion committed by an archaeologist. They were a ritualistic act of brutality–systematic, careful, unhurried. Jack the Ripper for the modern age.
