Six Sentence Sunday – A brief six from my urban fantasy "Gideon" about a vampire struggling to keep a promise to a witch (which I found out yesterday finaled in the WRW-DC's Marlene Contest!). Here we go:
Seconds later, the office door swung open and Macy scooted into the room behind Darla. She headed straight for the desk, a large mahogany monstrosity, with enough room beneath it to hide a buffalo. Bending forward, she crept into place but couldn't help taking a peek over her shoulder. John’s body lay face down near the front entrance, doors now closed. Who or whatever had knocked him to the floor wasn’t anywhere in sight. Damn, even in the dark she'd expected to see something.
This definitely makes me want to know more. And I love the description of the desk! Congrats on being a finalist!

I feel like I may be double-commenting, but it didn’t show up or give me a message so, just in case: this six definitely makes me want to know more. And I love the description of the desk! Congrats on being a finalist!
