OMG! I saw The Amazing Spiderman, and am in love with that movie. And since I’m posting Six Sentence Sunday here once again, I decided to reach into my bag of WIPs, and pull out one of my YA romances, which was handled expertly in TAS, with all of the tropes you can ask for, but still done extremely well. Here’s my six for today from a story about a girl who gets kidnaped by time travelers from another dimension. Here goes:

“Grandpa?” The little girl stood on her tippy toes to see into the old man’s face. He didn’t look at her, but stared up at the ceiling, the way he always did, as if there was no roof, just the sky stretched out above him.

“Grandpa, tell me about the space ship again.” She touched his wrinkled, sweaty hand, which lay palm down on the bedspread. “Please, you know the story I like, about the Princess who hated you, at first, and was the commander of a warship that ate stars, and she had four brothers who also hated you until you saved her life…you know, that one.”
